Srinagar, Oct30: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday filed the charge sheet in the alleged murder case of a woman on 27 June this year by her in-laws in the Bemina area.
A police official told Rising Kashmir that the charge sheet in the case under FIR No 109/22 registered at Police station Batamaloo was produced before the honourable court of Chief Judicial Magistrate in Srinagar.
“The charge sheet of the FIR No 109/22 registered at Police station Batamaloo was produced before the CJM Court at Srinagar in which five accused have been arrested and are currently lodged at Srinagar’s Central Jail”, a police official said.
Younis Dar, the deceased’s brother told Rising Kashmir that they have placed their hopes on the court to pronounce the verdict in the ‘murder’ case of their sister, saying that the punishment should be deterrent to others.
“We want speedy trial in the case so that justice is delivered into the matter and to ensure that such actions are not repeated in the society,” he said, adding that stringent action must be taken against the persons involved.
Meanwhile, brother of the deceased woman, Mohammad Younis Dar thanked the police for speedy investigation and action against the accused persons.
According to the family members, their deceased daughter, from HMT Zainakote who was married at Nund Resh Colony (B) Bemina in Srinagar was declared dead on arrival on 27 June after her In-laws took her to JVC hospital, following which they insisted the proceedings under 174 CRPC.
Subsequently, upon receiving the post-mortem report by the police it surfaced that the cause of the death is asphyxia- strangulation, following which the Police arrested five family members of the deceased’s In-Laws which included her husband and mother-in-law.
