Traffic on Srinagar-leh highway and Mughal road temporarily closed after Zojila pass and Peer ki gali received fresh Snowfall on Thursday.
Official sources told Rising Kashmir that upper reaches of Central Kashmir Ganderbal District including Famous Tourist Resort Sonamarg, Zojila, Meenamarg, Panimatha, Captain Morh, Shaitani Nallah recieved fresh Snowfall, following which traffic was suspended on this highway.
They said around three to five inches of fresh snow had accumulated on the Zojila pass,Gumri,and Zero Point.
He said due to fresh snowfall and below temperature, the road had become slippery. Therefore, he said, traffic was temporarily suspended as a precautionary measure to avoid any accident.
In a tweet, J&K Traffic police also confirmed that SSG and Mughal roads have been closed for vehicular movement after fresh snowfall.
Mughal road, connecting twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri with Shopian was also closed after fresh snowfall.
