Srinagar, April 13: A vibrant cultural extravaganza celebrating the joyous spirit of Baisakhi unfolded Sunday at the scenic Badamwari garden in Srinagar. The event was organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages (JKAACL) in collaboration with the Department of Floriculture, Kashmir.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Additional Secretary, JKAACL, Ideel Saleem, who greeted the enthusiastic audience and extended heartfelt appreciation to the participating artists. Thousands from the general public thronged the garden to experience the rich cultural showcase in full bloom. The atmosphere was electrified by captivating performances from legendary artists including Ustaad Abdul Rashid Hafiz, Ustaad Mohammad Yaqoob Shaikh, Gulzar Ahmad Ganai, Waheed Jeelani, Ajaz Rah, and Assad Anjum. Their soulful renditions enthralled the audience, transforming the spring garden into a vibrant hub of festivity and joy.
The event was gracefully hosted by renowned anchor Rashi Nizami, whose charm and elegance added to the splendour of the occasion. The programme beautifully highlighted the cultural harmony and artistic brilliance of Jammu and Kashmir, offering a truly unforgettable Baisakhi celebration.
JKAACL, in collaboration with the Department of Floriculture, Kashmir, plans to host more such events in future—inviting both locals and tourists to savour the Valley’s rich cultural tapestry amidst its breathtaking gardens and parks.
