Srinagar, Apr 20: While the spring bloom is attracting tourists to Kashmir valley in large numbers, the stakeholders in Kashmir tourism industry are expecting a more vibrant tourist season this year also. From the beginning of this year, Kashmir valley has been attracting visitors in record numbers from far and wide.
Those associated with the tourism industry believe that this year the tourism industry in Kashmir is poised for a significant boost, with tourist footfall expected to surpass last year’s numbers.
Pertinently, the breathtaking beauty of the valley during spring season creates a captivating landscape that is unparalleled forming the perfect and a memorable experience for the tourists.
“The tourism industry plays a vital role in our economy, and spring is a crucial time for us. We are expecting a significant rise in tourist arrivals this year also. We hope Kashmir becomes the most sought out tourist destination this year also ,” said Javed Ahmad Tenga, president Kashmir Chamber of commerce and industries.
“Spring is the time when the tourist season marks the beginning of the peak tourist season for Kashmir valley. As the entire valley comes alive with colors, tourists in large numbers flock to witness this stunning transformation,”he added.
These days tourists can be seen strolling through these gardens, capturing the essence of spring in their photographs and immersing themselves in the serene ambiance. One of the key attractions during this season is the blooming orchards and gardens and mustard bloom that burst into a riot of colorful blossoms.
“Gardens in Kashmir valley such as tulip garden, almond orchids,and all the blooms around are simply breathtaking these days. The blooming season is the reason for tourists flocking to the valley in large numbers. This sets the scene for the tourism industry of the valley while we can anticipate the tourist arrivals in coming months”, Aijaz Ahmad, an official from the tourism department said.
With an anticipated surge in tourism,the stakeholders are of the opinion that there is a need to address infrastructure development to attract more and more tourists to the valley.
“As we have started to welcome visitors with open arms, there is a sense of optimism and anticipation in the air. The spring bloom not only sets the scene for a bustling tourism industry but also serves as a reminder of the timeless allure of Kashmir, beckoning travelers to explore its picturesque landscapes and create memories to cherish”, Abdul Rashid, a local hotelier said.
Pertinent to mention here, nearly 105,861 tourists visited Kashmir’s tulip garden in the first week of the month of April. week of the , including both domestic and foreign visitors, over the past 11 days.
The total number of visitors, including locals and foreigners this month so far has surpassed 105,861. Additionally, 100,334 tourists from various parts of the country visited the garden in the beginning of April.
The officials expect a further surge in tourist arrivals anticipating surpassing the previous records.
