Bandipora, Nov 3: Stating that “sports is for all”, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir P K Pole on Thursday said that government will initiate sports activities for senior citizens soon.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the Back to Village programme here at Sumbal in this north Kashmir district, the Div Com said the government will start sports activities for senior citizens soon so to relieve their worries and stress in old age.
He said introducing games for senior citizens would bring back their childhood memories and also keep them at bay from health issues. Like cricket, the government will also introduce revolving trophies for senior citizens, he added.
Speaking about the Back to Village-4, the Div Com said the aim of the programme is to reach out to the people at their doorsteps, listen to their demands and take measures for early redressal of the same. “The Back to Village programme is aimed at creating a new era of development in the Union Territory,” he said.
Pole lauded the public response toward the B2V-4 and appreciated people for coming forward to register their demands and issues. He said all the grievances will be taken with the concerned departments for their early resolution.
