JAMMU, FEB 10: A meeting of the House Committee was convened today under the chairmanship of Abdul Rahim Rather, Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, to address issues raised by various members.
Committee members present included Sunil Kumar Sharma (Leader of the Opposition), Ghulam Ahmad Mir, Nazir Ahmad Khan (Gurezi), Surjeet Singh Slathia, Ali Mohammad Dar, Javid Hassan Baig, Ch Mohammad Akram, and Waheed Ur Rehman Para.
The Committee discussed accommodation and related issues faced by Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) during their stays in Jammu and Srinagar.
During detailed discussions, legislators proposed providing suitable accommodation in both cities. They also suggested initiating the identification of government quarters for MLAs until new arrangements are established, ensuring convenience during public meetings and legislative sessions.
