Jammu, May 12: The 3rd year students at the School of Civil Engineering (SoCE) at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) made a presentation at the International Conference in Advancement in Construction Materials (ICACM 2023).
Abhivek Singh and Harshit Vatsa, under the guidance of Mr. Srijan, an Assistant Professor at SoCE, presented a review paper titled “Use of Geotextile as an Innovative Material in Geotechnical Engineering: A Review.”
The ICACM 2023, a part of the Indo-African Conference Series, was jointly organized by the Department of Civil Engineering at VidyaJyothi Institute of Technology, The Copperbelt University in Kitwe, Zambia, Mattu University in Metu, Ethiopia, the Indian Concrete Institute, and the American Society of Civil Engineers (Indian Section Southern Region).
“This collaboration facilitated an enriching environment for researchers, scholars, and practitioners to share knowledge and insights in the field of construction materials. The exceptional work presented by the students of SMVDU has earned them recognition, as their paper will publish in the Scopus Indexed AIP Conference Proceedings,” the university said in a statement. “This achievement reflects their dedication and the quality of their research, and it serves as a testament to the rigorous academic standards and opportunities provided by the School of Civil Engineering at SMVDU.”
