SMVDU inaugurates 6-day online Prog on ‘Green Hydrogen Generation’

Jammu, Dec 14: A week-long virtual faculty development programme has been inaugurated at the School of Mechanical Engineering, SMVDU Sponsored by ATAL AICTE on ’Green Hydrogen Generation and Opportunities in India’.
A statement issued here said that the programme was registered by 215 participants across 21 states in India. “There are 11 speakers from India and one international expert from the U.K. in the programme and the schedule of 13 technical sessions by the experts. The Inauguration Function was graced by Saurabh Bahgat IAS Commissioner/Secretary, Department of Science and Technology J&K being the chief guest of the event.”
The statement said that Bhagat mentioned various Government initiatives to promote renewable energy sources and emphasized the need for such alternative energy sources to become India Energy Independent by 2047. Prof. (Dr.) Paragati Kumar Vice Chancellor SMVDU Katra delivered his presidential address. “Prof. Pragati Kumar emphasized that every country should work on green energy sources to sustain the current need,” the statement said.
It said that Prof (Dr) Balabir Singh Dean Faculty of Engineering and Dr Yathesth Ananad, Head, SoME were also present during the ceremony and shared their thoughts on the topic.
All the speakers praised the initiative and congratulated the participants for the successful completion of the programme. The speakers also highlighted the importance of such courses in the capacity building of the country’s energy sector. “The Faculty development programme was coordinated by Prof. (Dr.) Eswaramoorthy Muthusamy and co-coordinated by Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Asst Prof-SoME, SMVDU. The inaugural ceremony ended with a vote of thanks from Dr. Rajiv Kumar Co-coordinator Hand Embroidery Certificate Course Concludes at SPPND GDC Samba,” the statement said.
