SMVDU hosts smart solutions exhibition-2025

Katra, March 09: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) Sunday hosted the Smart Solutions Exhibition 2025, a vibrant event that brought together young innovators, creative thinkers, and problem-solvers from across the region.
Organised as part of the university’s Annual Festival by the Board of Professional Activities (BPA), the exhibition served as a dynamic platform for students to present groundbreaking ideas, working models, and research-driven projects aimed at solving real-world challenges through technology and creativity.
The event was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Pragati Kumar, with Dr. Yatheshth Anand, Head, School of Mechanical Engineering, also in attendance. The Vice-Chancellor engaged with students from various institutions, exploring their projects, asking insightful questions, and appreciating their innovative approaches. Dr. Ankush Raina, President, BPA, expressed satisfaction with the level of participation and the exchange of ideas, emphasising that such events not only highlight the latest technological advancements but also open doors for future collaborations and partnerships. Over 20 teams from leading institutions, including MIET Jammu, Government College for Women (GCW) Parade, Khalsa College Amritsar, GCET Jammu, and SMVDU, participated in the exhibition. The showcase featured an impressive range of working models, visionary research projects, and thought-provoking presentations, reflecting the ingenuity and dedication of the students.
Winners of Smart Solutions Exhibition 2025 include Model Display Category—first place—Young Minds (GCET Jammu), second place Vadar KCET (Khalsa College Amritsar), third place Team Civil Engineering (SMVDU). In Idea and Presentation Category, first place–The Clean Code (GCW Parade), second place—Srijana (SMVDU) and third place Hydroponic Curtain (GCW Parade).
A distinguished panel of judges evaluated the projects based on originality, feasibility, impact, technical depth, and presentation skills. Prof. Ankush Anand, event coordinator, highlighted that the exhibition aimed to encourage collaboration, idea exchange, and innovative problem-solving techniques. Dr. Mir Irfan ul Haq, Associate Dean (Alumni and International Affairs) and co-coordinator, praised the participants, stating, “The energy, creativity, and impactful ideas displayed today reaffirm our confidence in the bright future ahead.”
The success of Smart Solutions Exhibition 2025 was made possible through the untiring efforts of dedicated student coordinators, including Muskan Gupta, Dhiraj Kumar, Ramnik Sharma, Astabhujanath Pandey, and others. With groundbreaking projects and a spirit of innovation, the event has set a new benchmark for future editions, inspiring young minds to think big, create boldly, and innovate fearlessly.
