Rajouri, March 26: Range Police Headquarters (RPHQ) Rajouri on Sunday organized a mega Run for Unity against drugs “to counter the increasing menace of drugs among the youth and the masses as well as to prevent the abuse and growing drug addiction in society”.
As per an official statement, the event was part of the police’s Civic Action Programme and in order to spread awareness about drug abuse in society, more than 500 personnel of different security forces, members of civil society, students of Degree College Rajouri, HEM School, International School, J&K Police Public School and Government HSS participated.
The march started from DPL Rajouri and culminated at DPL after covering Gujjar Mandi Chowk, Salani Bridge, Old town, City Markets and Panja Chowk. Prominent youth leaders from various political parties and social groups of Rajouri also participated along with their teams and groups.
The march was flagged off by DIG RP Range Dr. Mohd. Haseeb Mughal, IPS, in presence of senior officers of the district Police, 2nd IRP and CRPF. At the culmination, DIG RP Range thanked the participants for exhibiting tremendous enthusiasm and support in spreading this noble message amongst the masses.
This Civic Action Programme is part of a series of efforts under ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ being made by J&K Police to spread awareness about drug abuse and addiction, the statement said, adding that the mission of J&K Police to end drugs will continue.
