Jammu, March 4: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) Tuesday hosted the two-day national Workshop-Cum-Conference on Algebra, Analysis, Topology and Applications-2025 from March 3 to March 4.
Sponsored under the PM Usha scheme, the prestigious event provided a platform for distinguished academicians and researchers to exchange ideas, discuss innovations, and explore applications in fields such as algebra, analysis, geometry, cryptography, topology, and soft computing.
The conference featured esteemed speakers, including Professor R.K. Sharma (IIT Delhi), Professor Gauree Shanker (CU Punjab), Professor Hemen Dutta (Gauhati University), Professor Sartaj Ul Hassan (IIT Jammu), Professor Romesh Kumar (University of Jammu), Professor K.S. Charak (University of Jammu), Professor Ajay Kumar Sharma (CU Jammu), Professor Rakesh Kumar Sharma (Punjabi University, Patiala), and Professor Uday Pratap Singh (CU Jammu). Participants from various institutions contributed through insightful research presentations.
A special workshop on “Research and Cryptography: Generating New Ideas” was conducted by Professor Varun Shukla (Allenhouse Institute of Technology, Kanpur). He provided a comprehensive overview of cryptography, demonstrating its role in security and its potential for fostering innovation in science and technology. Dr Kuldip Raj, Associate Professor and Head of the School of Mathematics, served as the event’s convener and expressed gratitude to all attendees and volunteers. The conference was further supported by faculty members, including Dr Rakesh Kumar, Dr Sandeep Sharma, Professor V.K. Bhatt, Professor A.K. Das, Dr Surender Singh, Dr Sandeep Boughal, Dr Abhishek Singh, Dr Himani Arora, and Dr Vivek Kumar. Dr Sunny Kumar Sharma, Assistant Professor and Organising Secretary, presented a detailed report of the event, while Dr Sunil Kumar Sharma, also Assistant Professor and Organising Secretary, delivered the vote of thanks, marking the successful conclusion of this intellectually enriching gathering.
