Srinagar, July 14: The division of animal genetics and breeding at the faculty of veterinary sciences and animal Husbandry, SKUAST-K Shuhama, in collaboration with the Department of Sheep Husbandry Srinagar, organised a Clinical cum Awareness Camp at Faqir Gujri, Dara.According to a statement issued here, the event was conducted under ICAR’s Network Project on Animal Genetic Resources. A team of scientists from the Division of AGB, led by Prof. Syed Shanaz, Head of the Division, along with the Dr Ashraf Baba , DSHO Srinagar, Veterinary Assistant Surgeons, visited the area and imparted awareness and training to Sheep breeders on various aspects of scientific and sustainable livestock rearing practices visa- vis the importance of conserving native germplasm.Free quality medicine and university developed feed was provided to the stakeholders including women beneficiaries.The camp was organised with the objective of awareness about animal health, promoting sustainable livestock management and livelihood generation. The stakeholders were made aware of various schemes offered by the Department under HADP, INLM, ICDS etc.
