Srinagar, Jan 18: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Science and Technology (SKUAST)-Kashmir, through its Institute of Business and Policy Research (IBPR), organised an impactful entrepreneurship Awareness Program (EAP) on Saturday at Ignited Minds, Parraypora, Srinagar.
Titled “Entrepreneurship as a Source of Independent Livelihood,” the program aimed to inspire students to explore entrepreneurship as a viable career option and raise awareness about essential future skills required to seize emerging job opportunities.
The event kicked off with Dr. Omar Fayaz Khan, program organiser, who provided an insightful overview of various government-backed entrepreneurship initiatives, such as the HADP program, which are particularly beneficial for aspiring entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector. He also emphasized the critical role of skill-based education, particularly in agriculture and allied sectors, in creating sustainable career prospects. Dr. Khan led an interactive session to help participants assess their leadership potential and entrepreneurial capabilities. The event concluded with a felicitation ceremony, where certificates of appreciation were presented to the representatives of Ignited Minds, participants, and coordinators for their efforts. Jibran Majeed of Ignited Minds expressed gratitude to SKUAST-K for facilitating such valuable collaborations. He also highlighted the growing importance of entrepreneurship in today’s economy, drawing on the success stories of leading entrepreneurs and stressing key leadership traits essential for entrepreneurial success. The event was coordinated by students Fatimah Noor and Sakib Arsalan, further strengthening institutional collaboration aimed at fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation.
