Srinagar, Aug 09: ICAR- All India Coordinated Research Project on Poultry, Division of LPM, SKUAST-K in collaboration with Division of AGB and KVK, Gurez conducted input distribution cum training programme under Tribal Sub-Plan at Dawar Gurez.
Under the programme inputs in the form of day-old chicks, feed and medicines were distributed among 30 tribal farmers for establishing backyard poultry units. The farmers were imparted training on scientific poultry farming.
A team of experts led by Professor and Head AGB, FVSc& AH, Dr Syed Shahnaz visited Gurez to carry out the programme. Head KVK, Dr Hilal Malik and his team along with officers of the Animal Husbandry Department provided all necessary logistic support for conducting the programme.
Prof Azmat Alam Khan, OSD to Vice Chancellor and Principal Investigator, All India coordinated Research Project thanked the Directorate of Poultry Research Hyderabad for funding the intervention and all coordinating Departments including MARES Gurez, KVK Gurez and Department of Animal Husbandry for the support.
