Srinagar, Aug 24: Janata Dal (United) said on Saturday that several senior leaders from the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) joined the party under the leadership of its J&K President, G M Shaheen.
The event marked a key moment in the ongoing political realignment within the region, the JD(U) said in a statement issued here.
Other senior leaders present at the event were Vivek Bali State General Secretary, Liyakat Ali Chief Spokesperson and Chairman of the Parliamentary Board Riyaz Malik, Political Advisor, Amjad Rizvi State Youth President, senior leader Gulshan Sanotra and others
Speaking at the event, Shaheen welcomed the new members into JD(U), saying that their experience and dedication would strengthen the party’s efforts to address the needs of the people of Jammu & Kashmir. The newly inducted leaders expressed their commitment to working collaboratively with JDU to ensure progress and development in the region, the statement said.
“The presence of such experienced leaders within the JD(U) is expected to bring about a positive shift in the political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly as the region prepares for the upcoming assembly elections,” the party said.
