Srinagar, Aug 11: Janata Dal (United) J&K President G M Shaheen on Sunday expressed deep concern over the “ongoing challenges” faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Despite the independence achieved in 1947, the region’s residents continue to endure hardships and the progress expected has not been realized,” Shaheen said in a statement.
Addressing a public gathering, he appealed to the Government of India and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to urgently address and resolve the pressing issues of Jammu and Kashmir. He underscored the need for immediate and effective action to bring relief and development to the region.
Shaheen extended his heartfelt gratitude to the people who attended the gathering, acknowledging their support and commitment to the cause. “This is not just a political issue, but a matter of the well-being and future of our people. We must work together to ensure that the promises made to the people of Jammu and Kashmir are fulfilled,” he said.
The JDU State President’s emotional appeal highlights the critical need for attention and action from both state and central authorities to improve the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, the statement said.
