Sopore, December 31: The champions from Shah-i-Hamdan Sports Academy Sopore were celebrated on Sunday for their stellar achievements in a recent Wushu Championship held in Jammu.
Athletes from the academy clinched gold, silver, and bronze medals, marking a momentous victory.
The felicitation ceremony, graced by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Mumtaz Ahmad and the parents of the triumphant athletes, showcased the dedication and prowess of the young sports enthusiasts.
Administrator of the Academy, Masrat Rasool Kar took the opportunity to reflect on the establishment and journey of Shah-i-Hamdan Sports Academy.
She credited Manzoor Ahmad, a dedicated teacher, for his instrumental role in shaping the destinies of numerous sports enthusiasts and athletes.
Masrat emphasized the academy’s mission to kindle the aspirations of the youth while steering them away from societal issues like drugs.
Expressing gratitude to all academy teachers, she acknowledged their tireless efforts in nurturing the potential of young athletes and transforming dreams into reality.
Commending the parents for their unwavering support, Masrat highlighted that the academy has not only represented Sopore at the national level but has also made its mark internationally, dispelling misconceptions about the region.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue Mumtaz Ahmad lauded the athletes for their exceptional performances and shared insightful guidance to help them chart a promising future.
