Jammu, Mar 17: To overcome the unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir, the government has been taking various steps to create employment venues besides several other self employment schemes that are being run by departments like Agriculture Production, Industries and Commerce, RDD etc.
This was informed in the Assembly on Monday by the government in response to a question by BJP MLA, Narinder Singh Raina.
To overcome unemployment, the J&K Government is also implementing self employment schemes through Line Departments by providing subsidized loans to unemployed youth for establishing their own sustainable income generating units, it said.
Apart from this, the government has also launched schemes like Mumkin, Tejaswani, Spurring entrepreneurship under Mission Youth to address the problem of unemployment, the government said.
The Mission Youth was approved by the Administrative Council as a Society in the Financial year 2020-21, Mumkin Scheme was approved in the Financial year 2020-21, and is currently running smoothly and providing livelihood opportunities to unemployed youth in the transport sector, the government said.
Similarly, the Tejaswani Scheme was notified in the Financial year 2022-23 to empower women and is running smoothly.
The PARVAAZ Scheme, notified in the Financial Year 2022-23 is also currently functional and is focused on providing opportunities to youth for competitive exams and recruitment exams, the government said.
All the above mentioned schemes and initiatives are aimed at addressing the problem of unemployment, the government said.
