Srinagar, July 22: The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT-JK) marked the beginning of ‘Shiksha Saptah’ with a successful Teaching Learning Material (TLM) Day across the Kashmir Division.
The event, held under the leadership of SCERT-JK Director Parikshat Singh Manhas, showcased a professional display of educational materials throughout the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Director SCERT-JK, Professor Parikshat Singh Manhas, ensured a well-coordinated effort across the UT, with Joint Director SCERT, H.R. Pakhroo, overseeing the proceedings. Pakhroo managed communications with the nodal agency, facilitated the sharing of Google trackers, and assessed TLM/LTM showcases by Key Resource Persons (KRPs), SCERT faculty, DIET faculty, and field teachers.
The TLM Day was part of the nationwide ‘Shiksha Saptah’, which runs from July 22 to 28, 2024. Jammu & Kashmir’s active participation drew national attention during a meeting organized by CIET, NCERT, where all States and UTs shared their activities.
The SCERT-JK team’s presentation, featuring video and image displays of classroom activities, Jaadui Pitara demonstrations, and orientation programs, received notable praise.
In subsequent online meetings with RIE Ajmer and CIET New Delhi, the Jammu & Kashmir team highlighted their event’s success, showcasing TLM displays, group discussions, and online demonstrations.
The extensive participation saw 694 schools and 50,196 students engaging in TLM activities. These sessions emphasized holistic development in physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and aesthetic domains, aligning with the National Curriculum Framework.
Both Director SCERT-JK Professor (Dr.) Parikshat Singh Manhas and Joint Director SCERT KD/Central Hem Raj Pakhru expressed satisfaction with the enthusiasm displayed during TLM Day. They expressed optimism about maintaining this momentum throughout ‘Shiksha Saptah’, which commemorates the fourth anniversary of the National Education Policy in Jammu & Kashmir.
The successful launch of TLM Day sets a positive tone for the week-long celebrations, reflecting the UT’s commitment to advancing teaching-learning processes and implementing innovative educational practices.
