Anantnag, Jul 01: In a unique display of dedication, Faisal Ahmad, a supervisor on duty at Nunwan basecamp in Pahalgam for the Shri Amarnathji Yatra  2024, tied the knot virtually to ensure he could continue fulfilling his responsibilities at the basecamp.

A small function was organized by his colleagues from the Rural Sanitation, Rural Development Department, and service providers to celebrate the occasion.

Faisal Ahmad, a resident of Zainapora in South Kashmir’s district Shopian, chose to remain at the camp and continue his work.

An official said that to celebrate the occasion, tea, sweets, and biscuits were arranged for the dozens of people present, creating a warm and joyous atmosphere.

Anoo Malhotra, Director General of Rural Sanitation, extended heartfelt congratulations to Faisal Ahmad on this special occasion. She said that his dedication signifies his role in ensuring the success of the sanitation mission.

“We are proud of Faisal’s commitment and the exemplary service he continues to provide,” she said.

“Recognizing his professional responsibility to ensure a smooth pilgrimage, Faisal Ahmad chose to stay at the basecamp rather than visiting home for the function,” Mudasir Gul, Block Development Officer (BDO), said.

He said that the people present ensured a memorable function to boost his morale.

“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the supervisor and wish him and his spouse a lifetime of happiness and fulfillment. Their story will remain a shining example of selflessness and commitment within our community,” Mudasir added.
