Srinagar, July 12: In a three-day visit to the Kashmir Frontier, Director General (DG) of the Border Security Force (BSF), Nitin Agrawal, conducted a comprehensive review of the security arrangements for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra.
During his visit, he interacted with troops from various security forces and expressed his appreciation for their professionalism and synergy, which contributed to the success of the 62-day pilgrimage.
DG BSF commended the high level of professionalism exhibited by the security personnel and urged them to remain vigilant in the face of any potential risks. He specifically praised the forces’ efforts in organizing medical camps and deploying BSF disaster response teams along both the Baltal and Pahalgam axes, ensuring the safety and well-being of the pilgrims.
Meanwhile, Nitin Agrawal paid homage at the Holy Cave, offering his prayers and seeking blessings. Subsequently, he returned to the Ftr HQ BSF, Kashmir, in the afternoon.
Earlier, on Monday, the DG BSF was warmly welcomed by Inspector General Ashok Yadav of BSF Kashmir Frontier. During his visit, he engaged in discussions with BSF officers and conducted security reviews in the Pahalgam area, where BSF personnel are deployed for the Amarnath Yatra.
The DG BSF also held meetings with BSF and CRPF commanders, reviewing the overall deployment and domination plan for the SANJY pilgrimage. He interacted with troops from various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) deployed along the route. Later, he spent the night in Pahalgam.
On Tuesday, Nitin Agrawal traversed the Chandanwari axis route, passing through Sadhu Padav, Pissu Top, Zojibal, Nagakoti, Sheshnag, Wahabal, M G Top, Poshpathri, and reaching Panjtarni. Along the way, he interacted with pilgrims, langarwalas (volunteers serving food), and troops from different CAPFs stationed along the Chandanwari axis.
