Srinagar, Jul 19: National Conference (NC) General Secretary and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Khanyar, Ali Mohammad Sagar on Saturday chaired a review meeting here to discuss the advancement of development projects in the Theed A and Theed B Blocks of Khanyar constituency.The focus of the meeting was on strengthening the rural infrastructure through various developmental schemes, including NREGA, PRI, and CD Panchayat schemes, the party said in a statement issued here. During the meeting, Sagar announced the approval of Rs 1.33 crore for various development works aimed at bolstering rural infrastructure. These initiatives are expected to provide much-needed support to the rural population of Khanyar by improving local facilities and services.He released financial allocations to address the critical needs of the constituency. A sum of approximately Rs 75 lakhs has been allocated for healthcare improvements to enhance the quality and accessibility of medical services in rural areas, according to the statement.It added, “A further Rs 45 lakhs has been earmarked to improve educational facilities in the region, ensuring better learning environments for local students. Furthermore, nearly Rs 1.5 crore will be invested in augmenting and upgrading the existing water supply systems, providing a more reliable and sustainable water source for the rural communities.”In his address, Sagar emphasised the importance of these investments in uplifting the overall quality of life in Khanyar’s rural areas. “These projects are designed to improve the living standards of our people by ensuring access to essential services like healthcare, education, and clean water,” he said. “We are committed to laying the groundwork for sustainable development and creating a prosperous future for the people of Khanyar.”MLA Khanyar said he will continue to prioritise essential infrastructure and services to ensure the progress and well-being of residents in the constituency.
