Srinagar, March 12: The Jammu and Kashmir government Wednesday stated that an annual alloca-tion of Rs 3,500 lakh was made under the Special Area Development Programme (SADP) for Srinagar district until the fiscal year 2019-20, aimed at addressing infrastructure deficits.
Responding to a query from MLA Tariq Hameed Karra in the Assembly, the government said that these funds were allocated each year to support the district’s development.
“For the fiscal years 2021-22 and 2022-23, funds were allocated under the scheme to clear any out-standing liabilities identified by the districts,” the government said. “However, for the fiscal years 2023-24 and 2024-25, no funds were allocated as no requests had been submitted by the districts.
The government further explained that the disbursement of funds is determined based on an as-sessment of additional requirements necessary to bridge existing infrastructure gaps in Srinagar.
