Jammu, Dec 07: In a significant development today, the Rainawari Kashmiri Pandit Action Committee (RKPAC), a prominent organization representing the interests of Rainawari Kashmiri Pandits, met with Atal Dulloo (IAS), Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir. The committee felicitated him on his recent appointment and seized the opportunity to discuss pressing issues affecting the Rainawari community.
B.L. Jalali, President of RKPAC, expressed elation over Atal Dulloo’s native connection to Rainawari and articulated hope in his ability to guide the resurgence of the Union Territory. Jalali commended Dulloo’s integrity and significant contributions to the well-being of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly highlighting his commendable role during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The primary focus of the meeting was to draw attention to religious and cultural concerns. Jalali urged Atal Dulloo to facilitate the release of the traditional Shiv Lingam from the ancient Shiv Mandir (Bodh) Mandir, Kralyar Rainawari, currently held in police custody. Stressing the matter’s religious significance to Rainawarians, Jalali emphasized the need for the artifact to be installed according to proper religious procedures.
Additionally, the RKPAC delegation requested the Chief Secretary’s intervention to safeguard the ancient Gopi Tirath at Brein Nishat, a property of Jogeshwari Mandir (Lokut Mandir), Ghat Jogi Lanker, Rainawari. This sacred site faces constant threats from land encroachment, prompting the committee to seek Dulloo’s assistance in preserving this historical Tirath.
The Chief Secretary gave a patient hearing to the RKPAC delegation, which included key members such as Rakesh Hangloo (General Secretary, RKPAC), Benerjee Hak (President, Jogeshwari Mandir Trust), Dr. Mahesh Kaul (Vice President RKPAC & General Secretary Jogeshwari Mandir Trust), Surinder Kumar Kaul (Vice President, Jogishwari Mandir Trust), Anil Kachroo (Treasurer, RKPAC), Dr. Suresh Saraf (eminent urologist), Avtar Mota (eminent writer), and Daleep ji Handoo, a social activist.
