RISE has conducted talent search examinations at multiple locations across various districts of Kashmir Division. RTSE has recently been completed in Pulwama district, where students across different institutions participated. The number of students were much more than expected, which reflects the passion and enthusiasm these students carry.
More than a dozen schools were covered under RTSE in Pulwama, where almost 1300 students appeared in the test. Lyceum International School, Abu Hanfia Memorial School, Rajpura, Syed Abdullah Basri School, Government Higher Secondary School, Pulwama, Government Girls Higher Secondary, Newa, Government Higher Secondary School, Hawal, etc. are some of the schools where RTSE was conducted. Along with the conduction of the Talent Search Examination, many students were counselled about the future prospects in academics and beyond.
RISE aims to continue with such endeavours in future, so that the students from Kashmir get a good representation in IITs and AIIMS especially children belonging to the far-flung areas of the region. Rahid Baba who is taking care of the talent search said “RISE aspires to bridge the gap between talent and opportunities and one of its major services is the mentorship program which has proven to be highly effective and has delivered incredible results.”
Shah Ahsan, who is managing the talent search said “Based on the Talent Search Examinations, a group of meritorious students from across rural and urban areas of Kashmir will be identified for further mentorship, counselling and will be provided prizes and scholarships.” RISE has conducted such activity earlier on multiple occasions. The activity was a huge success, where RISE targeted over 15000 students, and were able to offer specialized counselling and mentoring to the subsequently identified talented students. Some of the identified students are currently studying in various IITs and Ivy League universities in USA.
