Kulgam, Sept 21: The tehsil administration in Kulgam has retrieved 74 Kanals of state land in the Sangus village of Kulgam tehsil from illegal encroachers.
According to officials, this significant chunk of land, previously encroached upon, has now been reclaimed for the greater public good.
Bilal Ahmad, Tehsildar Kulgam, told Rising Kashmir that they have reclaimed 74 Kanals of land at Sangus village, identified under survey number 41.
“The state land has been handed over to the Rural Development Department (RDD) for the construction of a play field, with a portion also allocated to the Jal Shakti Department for necessary construction, all for the greater benefit of the local populace,” he said.
Local resident Arshid Ahmad said, the youth in the area have long been advocating for a playfield. The athletes are delighted with the playfield being established nearby.
Moreover, the land for a Service Reservoir (SR) has also been demarcated.
He further mentioned that the village is celebrating this development, recognizing the long-term benefits it promises.
