Pulwama, Jan 26: Minister of State for Ministry of Science and Technology, Dr Jitendra Singh, stood up from his seating position and started clapping with others when CSIR’s ( Council of Scientific and Industrial Research’s) Tableau depicting Purple Revolution in Jammu and Kashmir trundled down the Kartavya Path in New Delhi as part of 75th Republic Day Parade.
The signs of happiness and pride were evident on the face of Dr. Jitendra Singh. The feelings were emboldened after acknowledgements by nearby colleagues standing in awe and applause to the CSIR Tableau.
The CSIR Tableau which was adorned with purple coloured lavender blossoms, distillation unit and other technological advances stood out among others
“The visually enchanting Tableau of CSIR aligns with the Viksit Bharat theme and is based on purple revolution ushered through lavender cultivation in Jammu and Kashmir.”
Highlighting agro technical developments, the distillation unit for extracting essential oil from Lavender flowers, the all women CSIR Tableau showcases government’s achievements through initiative of scientific development,” the commentator said.
“Proud to witness the Republic Day tableau of CSIR depicting first ever e-Tractor and the beautiful Lavender Farms of Aroma Mission originated from Bhaderwah in district Doda of Jammu and Kashmir,” Dr Jitendra Singh wrote on X.
In another post on X the Minister of State for Ministry of Science and Technology wrote, “It was a rare “Double Treat” at Kartavya Path today during Republic Day parade showcasing 2 of our recent success stories in science under leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi, (1) Purple Revolution Tableau depicting Lavender farms from Bhaderwah. (2) ISRO Tableau depicting Chandrayaan.”
Lavender, an aromatic bush with purple blossoms, is cultivated for obtaining Lavender oil, Lavender water, dried Lavender flowers and hydrosol for development of value added finished products like high end cosmetics, fine fragrances, beauty and body care products, therapeutics, food and flavouring agents and varied products of industrial uses.
The Ministry of Science and Technology, GOI, has launched various projects and Mission programmes on expansion of Lavender Like CSIR’s Aroma Mission.
Officials informed that under this Mission all the districts across UT of J&K were covered for Lavender cultivation in a phased manner with Bhaderwah of Doda district emerging as lavender capital.
