Pulwama : Authorities of School Education Department in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have given a grace period to various private schools whose valid registrations have expired to complete renewal of their registration process.
A verification report of private schools of district Pulwama compiled by the office of Chief Education Officer concerned reads that there are around 159 private schools whose registration has expired.
The report reads that out of these 159 private schools, 17 fall in Awantipora, 21 in Kakapora, 9 in Lurgam, 29 in Pampore, 30 in Pulwama, 15 in Shadimarg, 24 in Tahab and 16 in Tral zone.
The documents further read that two schools fall under unrecognized category while five schools didn’t submit documents for verification.
Rising Kashmir learnt from Officials of school education department that most of these schools have applied for renewal of their registrations and the renewal is still under process.
They also said that some private schools have land issues, issues of affiliation or other issues due to which their registration has not been renewed.
The officials said that 46 private schools are functioning with valid registrations.
Talking to Rising Kashmir Chief Education Officer Pulwama said that they served notices to these schools for completing the renewal of their registration time and again.
“These are again given a grace period to complete the registration process,” he said, adding that they will be compelled to take a tough action after the grace period is over.
