Jammu, Jun 30: A record-breaking number of 6619 pilgrims embarked on the holy Amarnathyatra from Jammu to Kashmir, setting a new milestone for the pilgrimage routes of Pahalgam and Baltal.
On Sunday, a historic 6619 yatris departed from the Base Camp at Jammu in 319 vehicles early in the morning, marking the largest group to undertake the Amarnathyatra from Jammu.
Among them, 3037 males, 633 females, and 07 children headed for Pahalgam, while 2106 males, 568 females, and 11 children journeyed towards Baltal for the holy Amarnathyatra.
The surge in pilgrim numbers has led to a significant congregation at the Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp, where devotees of Lord Shiva eagerly await their turn for the sacred journey.
