Srinagar Nov 07: Real Kashmir Football Club (RKFC) is set to face Churchill Brothers FC at TRC Ground in Srinagar on Wednesday, following their back-to-back victories in the I League season 2023-2024. The match kick-off time has been rescheduled to 2 pm.
RKFC’s head coach, Ishfaq Ahmad, expressed the team’s strong morale after wins against Rajasthan United FC and Tiddim Road Athletic Union FC (TRAU FC). He acknowledged the challenges of playing in the I League and recognized the strength of Churchill Brothers FC.
“It is always tough to play against any team in the I League. We know Churchill Brothers FC has a good side. We had a positive start after winning two matches and hopefully do well in Wednesday’s match,” he said.
Ishfaq highlighted the players’ dedication, mentioning the addition of more foreign players to strengthen the team and emphasized RKFC’s commitment to nurturing local talent.
RKFC player Sowban shared his positive experience with the club, mentioning the good atmosphere in the dressing room and the supportive team management.
“The atmosphere in the dressing room is good after winning two matches. The team management is also supportive,” he added.
Churchill Brothers FC’s head coach, Edgardo Raul Malvestitti, acknowledged RKFC as a formidable opponent, especially on their home turf, and expressed his team’s readiness for the challenge.
In the previous two games, the RKFC has defeated Rajasthan United Football Club and Tiddim Road Athletic Union FC (TRAU FC).
The I League is one of the top football leagues of the country in which international and national players are participating. For the season 2023-2024, at least 13 teams from across the country are participating and will be played for the next five months. From J&K, RKFC is the only club qualified to play in the I-League and is owned by Sandeep Chatoo.
