Gurugram, Nov 10: Ravinder Pandita has been elected president of the Kashmiri Pandit pan-India organization, All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS), election for which was held in Gurugram today. In a well fought election that got the whole community involved with great enthusiasm, Ravinder Pandita defeated the incumbent president, Dr Romesh Raina, who was seeking a second term.
As per the constitution of AIKS, election to the post of president is held every three years. Dr Romesh Raina had won the election in 2021, during the covid pandemic.
Ravinder Pandita is a well- known community activist, best known all over the country and abroad for having been in the forefront of the construction of the replica of centuries-old Sharda Temple now under illegal occupation of Pakistan in Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Ravinder Pandita will have a three- year term till 2027.
