Srinagar, July 26: Due to the ongoing heatwave, the authorities in the Ramban district have decided to adjust the school timings for all Government and Private schools from 27th July upto August 10th 2024.
Earlier, the school education department of Jammu and Kashmir had instructed the Chief Educational Officers of the winter Zone of Jammu Division to potentially reduce teaching hours by one hour in consultation with the Deputy Commissioner.
The Chief Educational Officers of Ramban told Rising Kashmir that due to the increasing day temperatures, the school timings in the Ramban district have been changed, with approval from the Deputy Commissioner.
“We have established three different sets of school timings in the district. The previous timings were 10:00 am to 04:00 pm, 09:00 am to 03:00 pm, and 08:00 am to 02:00 pm. By reducing one hour from all schedules, the new timings are now 10:00 am to 03:00 pm, 09:00 am to 02:00 pm, and 08:00 am to 01:00 pm,” he said.
The CEO of Ramban said that both teaching and non-teaching staff will follow the old school timings. This adjustment will be in effect until August 10th, 2024.
