Pulwama: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday vowed a strong and effective response by the Indian government against the perpetrators and the masterminds behind the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
The Defence Minister made these remarks while delivering the Marshal of the Indian Air Force Arjun Singh Memorial Lecture at the Air Force Auditorium in New Delhi, where he was present as the chief guest.t
Referring to the incident, he said, “Yesterday, the nation lost many innocent lives in a cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam.”
Condemning the attack as a heinous and inhuman act, he said the entire nation is united in grief and pain.
“I extend my deepest condolences to the families who lost their loved ones. In this hour of sorrow, I pray for the peace of the departed souls,” he added.
Reaffirming the country’s firm stance, he emphasized that India has a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism.
“Every citizen of this country stands united against this despicable act of terror,” he stated, assuring the people that the government will take every necessary and appropriate step in response.
“We will not only hunt down the perpetrators of this attack but also those who orchestrated it from behind the scenes,” he asserted.
Highlighting India’s resilience, he said, “India is a vast and ancient civilization that cannot be shaken by such acts of terror.”
He assured countrymen that those responsible will soon face a swift and decisive response.
