Jammu, Sep 14: Widespread protests against Pakistan were held on Thursday across Jammu and rich tributes were paid to the martyred Army officers and DSP of J&K Police who made supreme sacrifice during an encounter in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday.
The BJP, Congress, J&K High Court Bar Association, Panun Kashmir (PK), Dogra Front, and others held protests in various parts of Jammu against Pakistan for sponsoring terrorism in J&K and also paid rich tributes to the brave hearts who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation.
Rich tributes were also paid to the martyrs Colonel Manpreet Singh, Major Ashish Dhonack and DySP Muhammad Hamayun Bhat of the Jammu and Kashmir Police in different schools of Jammu.
A large number of activists of Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of the BJP, led by BJYM President, Arun Prabhat, held a protest at Pacca Danga, Jammu against Pakistan for sponsoring terrorism in J&K.
The BJYM workers paid rich tributes to the martyrs. “The sacrifice of our jawans and these officers will be avenged by our security forces,” the BJYM president Arun Prabhat said.
The protesters raised slogans “Pakistan Hai Hai, Shaheed Jawan Amar Rahein”. They also burnt the effigy of Pakistan and demanded decisive action against terrorism.
The Congress Party paid tributes to the martyrs at Jammu at Brigadier Rajinder Singh Chowk, Jammu in the evening. The Congress workers lit the candles and paid rich tributes to the martyred jawans.
Similarly, the J&K High Court Bar Association while paying rich tributes to the martyrs demanded stern action against Pakistan. Raising slogans ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’, Veer Jawan Amar Rahein-Amar Rahein’, the lawyers said, “We are hopeful that a decisive action will be taken by the Government of India (GoI) against terrorism.”
The terrorism will not last long here, they said. Protests against Pakistan were also held in the border village of Pargwal by the locals. The Yuve Rajput Sabha also held protests against Pakistan and paid rich tributes to the martyrs.
