Prioritize implementation of govt sponsored schemes: DC to officials

Srinagar, Feb 20: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad on Monday directed the officers to prioritize implementation of all government sponsored schemes to achieve the targets in time with tangible results on the ground.
He was speaking in a meeting convened to review the progress of developmental works being implemented under the Rural Development sector in the District.
Among others the meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats, District Mineral Officer, Executive Engineer REW, Executive Engineer Irrigation & Flood Control, Block Development Officers of Srinagar, Khonmoh, Harwan and Qammarwari, District Programme Officer, NRLM and other concerned.
 At the outset, the DC took a detailed review of different schemes being executed under the RDD sector in all Panchayat blocks of Srinagar district.
On the occasion, the DC directed the implementation agencies to redouble their efforts to ensure cent percent saturation of all the deliverables under the programme in all Panchayats in all 4 blocks of the district.
Earlier, the DC was given first hand appraisal about physical & financial status of MGNREGA, components of Swachh Bharat Mission, Area Development Plan, status on construction of Panchayat Ghar, status on the newly proposed works and works executed under PMKKY.
The progress on preparation of ADP plan for the year 2023-24 was also discussed.
 While reviewing the status of MGNREGA works, the DC was informed that against the total 227 works taken up during the current financial year, 215 works have been completed so far.
 With regard to implementation of MGNREGA Labour Budget Performance, the DC was informed that as many as 54487 man days were generated so far in all blocks of district by incurring expenditure of Rs 2.50 crore with 82.34% performance against the approved target.
 Similarly, the DC was informed that Geo Tagging of all 809 assets have been done under Phase-I, while 1298 assets out of 1429 assets have been Geo tagged under Phase- II. It was also given out that 100 percent Adhaar seeding of total 3965 workers have been done.
 While reviewing implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission 2022-23, the DC was apprised that out of 25 CSCs Tendered, 9 CSCs have been completed while work on 16 CSCs is going on and will be completed by March 15.
The DC also took status of segregation sheds and was informed that out of allotted 18 segregation sheds, work on 16 sheds is going on in full swing and shall be completed within the next 15 day.
He was also informed that work is going on in full swing on 1957 Individual Soakage Pits. Similarly, of 475 taken up 328 have been completed and work is in progress on the remaining 147 Individual Compost pits.
With regard to the Swachh Sarvekshan Grameen (SSG), it was given out that a 100 percent target has been achieved in all blocks.
The progress regarding achieving the target of ODF Plus villages, the DC was informed that out of 26 villages 16 villages have been kept under Aspiring, 7 villages under Rising and 3 villages under Model categories.
The DC also reviewed physical and financial progress made under Area Development Fund (District Capex)-2022-23 and was informed that as many as 308 works were taken up out of which 271 works have been completed with the expenditure of Rs 5.62 crore till date while works is under execution on remaining 37 works at fast pace.
The Aspirational Block status of works was also discussed and it was said that out of six works approved, five have been tendered and 2 works are completed.
 With regard to District Capex Budget(ADF) 2023-24, the DC was informed that the plan has been framed by all 4 blocks of the district and is under verification that shall be submitted soon.
The DC also asked Officers to lay thrust on different verticals under SBM Phase-2
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner congratulated the RDD team of Srinagar on achieving First Rank among 156 Districts in the Country under Swachh Sarvekshan Grameen.
