Jammu, April 07: A superb display with both bat and ball by Praful Dhar propelled Tawi Cricket Academy to a resounding 90-run win over SCA Juniors in a practice match played at the Country Cricket Stadium, Garota, on Monday.
Batting first, Tawi Cricket Academy posted a formidable total of 283 runs in the allotted 40 overs. Coming in at number six, Praful Dhar exhibited remarkable grit and flair, smashing a magnificent 95 off just 78 balls, studded with 15 boundaries and one towering six. Charukesh Sharma supported well with a composed 54 off 62 deliveries, including eight fours and a six, while Ragaw Sharma contributed a valuable 34 off 34 balls, hitting seven boundaries. Tarun (20), Dhairya (15), Shourya (14), and Chandan (11) also chipped in with useful contributions. For SCA Juniors, Mohd Shafiq and Saqlain Mushtaq took two wickets apiece, while Ricky and Akash claimed one wicket each.
In reply, SCA Juniors were bundled out for 193 runs, falling short by 90. Saqlain Mushtaq top-scored with a brisk 71 off 49 balls, hitting 13 boundaries, while Adarsh Yadav contributed 55 off 60 balls, including eight fours. For Tawi Cricket Academy, Praful Dhar was the pick of the bowlers, claiming three key wickets for 44 runs in his 8-over spell. Atul Watloo and Vansh took two wickets each, while Shourya Chouhan, Dhairya, and Akash claimed one apiece. For his outstanding all-round performance, Praful Dhar was deservedly adjudged Player of the Match.
