Police arrest four persons involved in human trafficking in Budgam

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday have arrested four persons involved in human trafficking in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

A Police spokesperson said, “On 14-02-2024, Police Post Soibugh received a call from a source regarding a non-local lady wandering aimlessly in the Arath area of District Budgam seeking help. Accordingly a Police team from PP Soibugh was deputed to the said place and recovered the said lady who was subsequently handed over to ‘Sakhi One stop centre Budgam’. “

“On enquiry she revealed that she had been fraudulently brought to Kashmir by *Miss. Zaitoon Bibi resident of Kolkata, West Bengal and Bashir Ahmed Mochi of Arath, Budgam”, he said.

“She further revealed that the said persons sold her to one Parvaiz Ahmad Ganiee S/o Gh Mohd Ganiee  R/o Yall Pattan for a sum of one lakh and thirty five thousand rupees and forcibly married her to the said person”, he said.

Accordingly, Budgam Police registered a Case FIR No 52/2024 under relevant section of Law at Police Station Budgam and investigation was started.

“During the course of investigation four persons namely 1.*Bashir Ahmad Mochi S/o Ab Rehman Mochi R/o Arath Budgam 2.Gh Hassan Najar S/o Wali Mohd Najar R/o Arath Budgam 3.Parvaiz Ahmad Ganiee S/o GH Mohd Ganiee R/o  Yall Pattan 4.Mohd Ramzan Ganiee S/o Ab Wahab Ganiee R/o  Hanjibugh Magam* were found involved in the said trafficking racket and were subsequently arrested in the instant case”, he said.

Further investigation is going on.
