Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday have arrested two gamblers and recovered stake money from their possession in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
A Spokesperson said, “Acting promptly upon a specific information regarding the gambling in the jurisdiction of police station Kulgam, Police party led by SHO police station Kulgam raided the suspected pl ftace near Adapora, Kulgam and arrested 02 persons while indulging in gambling.”
“The arrested persons have been identified as: Javid Ahmad Wani S/O Abdul Rehman Wani R/O Rangrez pora, Kulgam and Mohd Maqbool Ganie S/O Ghulam Qadir Ganie R/O Larkipora, Kulgam”, he said.
He said that stake money of Rs 12800 besides two sets of playing cards were recovered from the place of gambling. In this connection, Case FIR Number 19/2024 U/S 13 Gambling Act stands registered at Police Station Kulgam and investigation is taken up.
