Pulwama June 22: Member National Commission for Minorities, Syed Shahezadi on Thursday reviewed the implementation of the Prime Minister’s new 15-point programme of Central government and State government schemes on Minority Welfare.
On the occasion, Shahezadi was briefed about the implementation of PM’s 15-point programme through a PowerPoint Presentation. Officiating Chairperson undertook a sector-wise review of Minority Welfare Schemes pertaining to different departments and sought feedback from all the sectoral officers.
While speaking on the occasion, Shahezadi said that the 15-point programme is an attempt to uplift the livelihood of minorities by ensuring that the underprivileged and weaker sections of six centrally notified minority communities enjoy equal opportunities for growth and development. The programme will ensure these minorities could avail the benefit of various government welfare schemes and contribute towards the overall socio-economic development of the country. She said the government was committed to implementing the PM’s new 15-point programme for the welfare of minorities. Proactive steps need to be taken in this regard and any direction in this regard won’t be tolerated, she said.
Emphasizing that minorities shall be provided with every kind of support, she said that better facilities for transport, health, education and other areas would be provided to them. She also emphasized the need to focus on women’s development schemes ensuring an appropriate share for them in infrastructure development schemes.
