Srinagar, Apr 14: The Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that lives of mothers and sisters are becoming easier with the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) scheme.
Responding to a tweet thread by Jammu Poonch MP Jugal Kishore Sharma where the MP had narrated the massive change brought by a house under PM Awas Yojana in the life of Chanchala Devi of Poonch.
“This happiness of Chanchala Devi ji of Jammu and Kashmir tells how the lives of our mothers and sisters are becoming easier with the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana,” PM Modi said.
Earlier in a series of tweets, Poonch MP Jugal Kishore Sharma had highlighted the success of PMAY in Jammu and Kashmir and stated that people are thankful to PM for bringing change in their lives.
Sharma had interviewed Chanchala Devi ji and her son Pawan, living in Surrara village of Samba district.
“The occasion was special, the house of Chanchala Devi ji was being built! There was no limit to their happiness and why not? Now they have to live in a grass hut, in the rainy season, on the wet ground… they will not have to sleep. Nor will they have to live in fear of the animals living in the forest,” he said.
Sharma said this has become possible because of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. More than 3,00,00,000 houses across the country have been built by the respected PM Modi ji under PMAY, he said.
“More than 1,46,000 houses have been built under this scheme in Jammu and Kashmir. This plan is not an ordinary plan, this plan is a plan to make crores of people of India self-reliant, it is a plan to make crores of Indians feel a roof, which they can call their own,” he said.
Sharma said that the plan is to give every family in India a sense of security that comes only when they have their own home. Today, in Amrit Kaal, when the Honorable Prime Minister is envisioning how India should be in 2047, it is natural that our issues cannot be limited to ‘Roti, Kapda aur Makaan,” he said.
“These were the basics that needed to be fixed before moving on. Our Prime Minister examined this thing closely and that is why the country is on the path of progress,” MP Sharma said.
On March 29, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Grameen (PMAY-G), 40,000 new houses will be built for houseless families.
