Jammu, Aug 26: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta on Saturday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for “changing India’s culture from family first to nation first”. He was referring to naming the spot where India stepped on the moon as ‘Shiv Shakti’ and the one touched by Chandrayaan 3.
Kavinder said this while addressing a gathering of party workers here. Citing PM Modi’s visit to Bengaluru soon after landing from his foreign visit, the BJP leader from J&K said that Indian scientists have accomplished a wonderful job and those creating chaos over one party or other taking credit for this feat are simply demeaning the colossal achievement of all the Indians together. “PM’s announcement over naming the two spots on the surface of the moon as Shiv Shakti and Tiranga is the testimony to the fact that for him there is no entity which holds more importance than the nation and this should be the feeling of every Indian,” he said.
Gupta said, “PM Modi has taken a lot of pain in setting up this narrative across the country because those ruling the nation earlier never used to think beyond the members of their clan as without taking any pain the Congress leadership gave titles to the things of national importance after their family members as if India has no one above them.”
He alleged that this mentality was engraved by the Congress leadership in the minds of countrymen and no one used to object the same. “PM Modi has rightly erased this culture and today, the monuments, events, and awards are all named after those people who had shown extraordinary commitment and accomplished phenomenal work to add sheen to the name of the country,” he said, adding, “The people all across the country have acknowledged and endorsed this change with open hearts, which was desirable and justified.”
