NEW DELHI, Jan 21: In a historic moment, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is set to participate in the Pran Pratishtha (consecration) ceremony of Shri Ramlalla at the newly constructed Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya tomorrow, at 12 noon. The invitation for this auspicious event was extended by the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Trust in October 2023.
This significant ceremony will witness the presence of representatives from major spiritual and religious sects across the country. Attendees will include individuals from diverse walks of life, with representatives from various tribal communities. The Prime Minister is scheduled to address this distinguished gathering during the ceremony.
As part of his visit, Prime Minister Modi will engage with the shramjeevis, the labor force involved in the construction of the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir. Additionally, he will visit Kuber Tila, where the ancient Mandir of Bhagwan Shiv has been meticulously restored. The Prime Minister will perform Pooja and Darshan at this revered temple.
The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir, constructed in the traditional Nagara style, boasts impressive dimensions: 380 feet in length (east-west), 250 feet in width, and a towering height of 161 feet. Supported by 392 pillars and adorned with 44 doors, the temple features intricately sculpted depictions of Hindu deities, gods, and goddesses on its pillars and walls. The main sanctum sanctorum on the ground floor houses the idol of Shri Ramlalla, representing the childhood form of Bhagwan Shri Ram.
The main entrance, located on the eastern side, can be reached by ascending 32 stairs through the Singh Dwar. Within the Mandir complex are five Halls (Mandaps) – Nritya Mandap, Rang Mandap, Sabha Mandap, Prathana Mandap, and Kirtan Mandap. Adjacent to the Mandir is the historic Well (Sita koop), dating back to ancient times. In the southwestern part of the complex, at Kuber Tila, the ancient Mandir of Bhagwan Shiv has been meticulously restored, accompanied by the installation of a statue of Jatayu.
The Mandir’s foundation is composed of a 14-meter-thick layer of roller-compacted concrete (RCC), providing the appearance of artificial rock. Notably, no iron has been used in any part of the Mandir. To guard against ground moisture, a 21-foot-high plinth has been constructed using granite. The Mandir complex is equipped with a sewage treatment plant, water treatment plant, water supply for fire safety, and an independent power station. Embracing traditional and indigenous technology, the Mandir stands as a testament to India’s cultural heritage.
