Phase-1: Hardware systems completed in all PACs of Budgam

Budgam, Feb 10: The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Budgam, Akshay Labroo today visited various  Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), and inspected computerization and availability of computer hardware given to the PACS.
Among other PACS, the DC also inspected MPCS Bemina, MPCS Sheikhpora, and MPCS Budgam  and reviewed their functioning as Common Service Centres (CSCs) in the district.
Later, the DC also interacted with a gathering of PACS members at an awareness programme at Community Hall Budgam and encouraged them for coordinating and tying up with National level and established cooperatives.
Addressing, the members of the PACS, the DC exhorted the members to create model PACS that can serve as examples for other cooperatives in the district.
 He also emphasised on learning from leading cooperatives in India like Amul, the largest milk producer in the world.
He assured every possible assistance to the PACS from the side of district administration and urged them to avail the various incentives of the Cooperative Department such as computerization of PACS, establishment of Jan Aushadi Kendras etc.
DC Budgam said that our cooperative societies must work with great energy and enthusiasm and compete as well as coordinate  with National level societies.
The DC said that the completion of phase-1 computerization of all the 54 PACS in Budgam is a moment  of achievement for the district as all our 54 PACS are being mapped and  connected with other 63000 PACS of our country.
DC urged local enterprises to use innovative and  creative vision to strengthen their Cooperatives and explore vast opportunities in Dairy, Agriculture  and other fields for better prospects in the district.
He also appealed to members of PACS to explore expertise from counterparts in other states and enhance their skills and work execution during awareness programmes.
The members were also addressed by the Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies Budgam, Abida Nabi, who briefed them about the various initiatives of the Cooperative Department like Computerization of PACS, establishment of Jan Aushadi Kendras, functioning of PACS as CSCS etc.
She said that the computerization of PACS will enable them to access online banking, digital records, and e-governance services.
The PACS members were also addressed by the Deputy General Manager of NABARD Budgam, Junaid Hakeem, who informed them about the support and guidance provided by NABARD to the cooperatives. He said that NABARD is committed to promoting and strengthening the cooperative sector in the state.
The programme was attended by CPO, Fayaz Ahmad, GM JKSTCB, senior manager JKSTCB, branch office Budgam and other officers.
