Pattan, March 16: The construction of a new building for Boys Middle School Dangerpora in Zone Nihalpora, Pattan Constituency, remains stalled due to the non-availability of state land, despite approval and fund allocation under the Samagra Shiksha scheme.
In response to a query raised by MLA Pattan, Reyaz Bedar, the government confirmed in a written reply that the school building was approved under the Project Approval Board (PAB) 2023-24 at an estimated cost of Rs. 45.77 lakhs. However, the construction work could not commence as there was no suitable government land available for the project, it said.
The government further said that while the villagers and the Revenue Department identified a site for the school building, the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department found it unfeasible for construction.
Additionally, the Revenue Department has yet to issue the No Objection Certificate (NOC) required for the transfer of land to the School Education Department.
“Once the land is officially transferred by the Revenue Department, the construction of the school building will commence as planned under the executing agency’s supervision,” it said.
