Srinagar, June 02: 17 Days Training Programme of Pashu Sakhis under A-Help started on Friday at Directorate of Extension, SKUAST-K.
The programme is sponsored by National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and organized by Directorate of Extension, SKUAST-K. The training programme was inaugurated by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-K Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganie. Director Extension Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi, Scientists of Directorate of Extension, Master Trainers, Mr. Prakash representative from NDDB and participants of the training programme attended the inaugural session.
In the training programme 50 rural girls from all districts of Kashmir Valley are participating who shall be given training on breeding, nutrition, feed and fodder, vaccination of sheep and goat so that these trainees will disseminate the technology to other masses.
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-K Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganie in his address appreciated Director Extension, Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi for organizing series of training programmes and day to day activities at Directorate of Extension. He assured every possible support from the University to participants of Pashu Sakhis for their self-sustainability and further said that new technologies will be given to participants and the training will be beneficial for all trainees of Pashu Sakhis and opined that all trainings of Directorate of Extension are of utmost importance and are need and demand driven for boosting the morale of youth and getting training for generating the income and livelihood for unemployed rural youth.
Director Extension, SKUAST-K Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi in his address briefed about the importance of training programme. He stressed upon the need of the present scenario to boost the economy of the rural youth and bring the notable change in the Agriculture, Horticulture and Veterinary sector. He laid stress on entrepreneurship development for empowering budding entrepreneurs and also deliberated upon the importance of self-employment and upliftment of rural youth. He emphasized upon the creation of Self Help Groups among farm-women.
The representative from NDDB Mr. Prakash earlier briefed the salient features of the training schedule and thanked SKUAST-K authorities.
The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks to the chair and participants.
