Jammu, Nov 09: Apni Party Provincial President Jammu, and former minister, S. Manjit Singh on Thursday strongly condemned the unprovoked firing by Pakistan Rangers along the International Border in which a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was martyred in the Ramgarh sector in Samba District.
He expressed his sympathy with the family members of a martyred BSF jawan who laid down his life while responding to the unprovoked firing of Pakistani Rangers.
As per a press release, the former minister expressed serious concern over the breach of peace with the violation of ceasefire by Pakistan targeting the forward villages at the time of the peak of the harvest season.
“It’s an attempt to disturb the peaceful atmosphere in Jammu’s border belt in a bid to spread fear among the farmers with ulterior motives to support subversive activities. However, our defence forces/BSF are well prepared to deal with the situation and keep the peaceful atmosphere while confronting the anti-national elements,” he said.
“The situation on the International Border was peaceful for a long time, but Pakistan is trying to disturb peace for the second time within a short time, earlier in Arnia and now in Ramgarh where civilian areas were targeted,” Singh said.
The Apni Party leader said the border residents are living under constant fear of being shelled from across the border. “Their crop is ready after the BSF along with the agriculture and civil administration helped them in Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts for agricultural activities,” he said.
