Srinagar, Apr 29: Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader and MLA Kulgam, Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami on Tuesday urged the government to analyse the security lapse and take measures to prevent future attacks following the Pahalgam terror attack.
Tarigami called unity across religious, political and cultural lines to face the threat of terrorism. “At the time of such a tragedy, people cutting across religious, political and cultural lines have said that this is a terrorist act and we all together have to face it…The Government of India should analyse where the lapse was and take measures,” he said.
He expressed concerns over the government’s decision to demolish the houses of suspected terrorists allegedly involved in the Pahalgam attack. “If the government keeps taking such actions (demolition of houses of suspected terrorists allegedly involved in the Pahalgam attack), it will only cause more trouble,” he added.
The security forces and Jammu and Kashmir authorities demolished the house of suspects linked to the deadly terror attack that killed 26 people, who were mostly tourists, and left several injured.
The decisive action of J&K Police aims to dismantle the terrorist ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir by identifying and taking legal action against individuals engaged in such anti-national and criminal activities.
