Pahalgam attack: J&K Congress chief hails locals’ courage

Pahalgam, Apr 26: Jammu and Kashmir Congress president Tariq Hamid Karra condemned the Pahalgam terror attack, saying he denounced it not just as a political leader, but also as a Kashmiri and a Muslim, and praised the courage shown by local residents in rejecting the perpetrators’ agenda.
“In the first instance, I would like to condemn it in the strongest words, not only as the President of J&K Congress, but also as a Kashmiri and as a Muslim. The kind of perpetration, and the designs behind this, the stakeholders showed exemplary courage and proved that the agenda being propagated and the perpetrators have failed,” Karra told reporters.
He further praised the locals and victims of the attack for their courage and said that Kashmiris are peace-loving people, not terrorists.
“I commemorate the locals for their courage, and I also commemorate the victims who clarified the role and image of Kashmiris and said that Kashmiris are not terrorists but peace-loving people… Congress has decided not to politicise it… We will be as reasonable as possible and we are not trying to score points on that…” he said.
