Srinagar, July, 12: More than 80 activists on Wednesday joined the Youth Wing of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Lalchowk constituency and pledged to take forward the party’s “pro-people” agenda, the party said.
The new entrants belong to Solina, Barzulla, Jawar Nagar, Wazir Bagh and Raj Bagh areas of the Lalchowk constituency, the PDP said in a statement.
To welcome these young and dynamic activists into the party fold, a simple function was held at the party headquarter, which was presided over by the PDP president Mehbooba Mufti. Youth Wing Coordinator for Central Kashmir, and Lalchowk constituency in-charge, Zuhaib Yousuf Mir was also present at the function.
After Mehbooba welcomed the new entrants, Zuhaib Mir expressed satisfaction over the fact that the party president’s vision is fast attracting people.
“PDP president’s fearless and sincere leadership is paying at the ground level and by virtue of that common people as well as the people in knowhow are showing their keen interest in the programs of PDP,” he said.
“The new party entrants expressed their willingness to educate the people of Kashmir about their rights which have been snatched from them,” the party said.
According to the statement, one of the newly joined party workers, Younus Matto on the occasion said, “We will leave no stone unturned to reach the common people and explain to them the main objectives of PDP.”
