Jammu, Oct 28: Representing India-A, J&K’s pace sensation Rasikh Salam’s outstanding show with the ball at the Emerging Players’ Asia Cup held at Oman has made him the top contender for getting the National Selectors nod to represent Team India at the International scene.
Rasikh captured a total of 9 wickets in the four matches including the high scoring semifinal that India-A lost against Afghanistan-A.
He took 2/30 against arch rivals Pakistan in India-A’s first outing in the tournament and followed it with 3/15 against United Arab Emirates (UAE) which fetched him the player of the match award. Rasikh claimed 1/23 against Oman and followed it with 3/25 against Afghanistan.
Rasikh has a variety of bowling skills, including wobbling the ball, controlling line and length, and bowling slowers with a perfection.
He has had a number of achievements, including taking 3/44 against Gujarat Titans and 3/34 against Mumbai Indians in Prestigious Indian Premier League (IPL).
Rasikh was also the highest wicket-taker for Jammu and Kashmir in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy last season.
He was acquired by Delhi in the 2024 Indian T20 League auction and impressed scouts at Delhi Capitals with his execution of the wide yorker and slower deliveries in the death overs.
